As some of you might know there is a planning application out on Burgh Castle. It now appears that the BA's executive boundary cuts across the site, thus only part of the present application is to be decided by the BA's planning committee, the other, I presume, by South Norfolk. Daft or what!!

The sooner Planning responsibility is removed from the Broads Authority the better ... and simpler. The simpler things are made or the BA, the sooner they should do a better job.

A nice simple harbour conservancy seems just right. If the government are going to support the Boundary Committees propasal for a single, massive county council, it makes it very difficult for them to continue supporting a really tiny 'local authority' trying to provide the same services bang in the middle. OF

I think HMG has signalled that the unitary thingy is kaput following the credit crunch.
