Thought that a certain ex MG employee, Jason Parker, held that post. If he is under way already then perhaps we should be asking why the high turnover of staff under the present administration?

A direct quote from the BA's ad:

'An understanding of, and commitment to, the Authority’s conservation aims is essential'.

Since the BA supposedly has three equal aims, all of which impact on dredging, and that the navigation toll pays for the dredging, it seems unfortunate that they only refer to the conservation aim in regard to this post. But perhaps that is to be expected.

Be interesting to see how the dredging progresses without the present incumbent. The published job description must severely limit the number of suitable applicants.

There is rumour of another important waterways bod seeking employment elsewhere. The dredging programme is beginning to look as if it might be rather vulnerable.

I wonder, has the post left open by Jason's passing been filled? Its no longer advertised, yet I hear that it might still be unfilled.

I note that there are changes at the top in the conservation department, with a senior officer joining the ever growing band of the departed.

I also hear that the Authority is to add to its already bloated staffing level by employing two extra conservation officers.

At a time when the country is being plunged into recession, and not helped by the astronomical level of unproductive, and largely unnecessary public servants that we are forced to support, is this a timely and wise expansion of his empire?

Perhaps it is the result of having his new, larger palace, there are offices to fill.

One goes, and two come in, is this a wise move at this time? Or just another example of unhelpful expansionism by a less than frugal management?

No one applied yet?

One of these could be someone's perfect job! Just think, overpaid, retire at sixty on mega pension, won't have to use your brain, just be a worthy poodle, free car parking, numerous paid for benefits, numerous jollies, free uniform shirts, free 4 X 4, brand new office and loads of leave! Basically a life of Riley doing a totally pointless job and paid for by us poor ol' tax payers.

Replacements for two that have bitten the dust, or extra butts to fill the extensive office space that we don't need?

With apologies for breaking your solitude Peter, I should point out that these positions appear to be designed to replace a recently departed shepherd.

"Experience of handling livestock would be an advantage..."

Any further observation would see me suspended from posting for twelve weeks and I'm not ready to give anyone that much pleasure.

Baaaah...

I suspect that they have found a spare office that needs filling:
