The consulatation responses for the Draft Marine Navigation Bill have been published. The report can be found here:

The good news is that there is no longer a need for General Directions in the Broads Bill as this process will now be covered by National Legislation.
The bad news is that if this is brought in by a private Bill which will take precedence then we could well lose the safeguards being proposed by the DfT.
There were only 58 non-campaign responses to this process and on each subject Statutory Harbour Authorities were the largest group of respondents.
It is not surprising therefore that the outcome is loaded against users.
