The unsplit back of this post-card, the background and the racing mark all suggests that this card dates back pre WWI, which means it could be very early in Maidie's life, if it is her.

The photos are obviously the same - and yes, the boat is definitely Maidie - there weren't a huge number of the larger cruisers and just about all the others had white hulls. She might have been called Nathalie, Madie or Madge when the photo was taken. Before her rebuild. there was a small graving piece in name carved on her bow where Madge had been changed to Madie. Thomas Cook renamed her Madge after his wife. OF
